Smoke Damage – Protein Fire

Most people may not know that the number one cause of home fires and smoke damage is from cooking or leaving the stove on. This is exactly what happened and why we were called in. With protein fires, the damage may not be able to be seen, but it can be smelled and felt. Protein fires tend to leave a sticky residue coating the affected area and a very distinct smell that normal household cleaners will not get rid of, no matter how many times you try.

The damage that we saw was pretty severe. All of the clients belongings had to be transferred off of the property and cleaned off-site or replaced. All of the cupboards and appliances had to be taken out and replaced. Once this happened, we were able to set our equipment and start remediation. We set our air movers, air scrubbers, and Hydroxyl generators throughout the house and instantly the air started to smell better. We used a specialized cleaner meant for protein smoke damage restoration and were able to scrub out the smell from the floors, walls, ceilings, and other affected areas. The house is now being put back together and the clients will have their house back to normal in no time.
